Description

Márcio Chaves is the partner in charge of the Digital Law area, with over 20 years of legal, academic and professional experience, in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte, all where he also worked for Almeida Advogados, and Turin/Italy and Geneva/Switzerland, where he did his master's degree in Intellectual Property.

Head of the operation responsible for Digital Compliance projects, including data protection rules such as the General Data Protection Law - LGPD, and the European rule on which he was inspired, the General Data Protection Regulation - GDPR, Internet Civil Landmark, E-Commerce Decree, national and international Intellectual Property legislation with emphasis on software protection, electronic contracts, artificial intelligence, as well as cybersecurity sector rules and regulations, helping hundreds of companies, from technology startups to multinationals, to implement digital innovation in their businesses.

Academic duties as coordinator and professor of the MBAs in Privacy and Data Protection, GRC and Councillor training at CEDIN, on the LL.M. in Law and Technology at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV-RIO), on the MBA courses in Information Security at Centro Universitário UNA, in Innovation Management and Digital Law at FIA Business School and on training courses for Data Protection Officer (DPO) at FIA Business School at INFI FEBRABAN.
