recently approved Brazilian Internet Framework (Marco Civil da Internet) puts forth various rights and duties both to individuals and to legal entities. Among its manifold provisions, it sets directives in relation to web neutrality, data centers location, internet service provider’s liability, and data storage. The bill of law that will now guide the use of Internet in Brazil also regulates the storage of connection logs and depicts the cases in which Internet Service Providers are held accountable. In consideration thereof, in the Newsletter prepared by Almeida Advogados, we approach the main aspects and terms of the newly enacted law, in addition to its risks to companies, internet providers, and individual users.
